Rihanna is taking over the fashion world one step at a time.
Shortly after being named the face of Dior and proof that the “BBHMM” singer is creating a clothing line called $chool Kills, Rihanna is now a contributing creative director for Stance socks.
In a three year deal, Rihanna will become one of the brand’s ambassadors and will design a collection, which won’t be released until fall.
According to WWD, Rihanna said of the collaboration: “I’ve had a great relationship with Stance for a long time and I am happy to be working with them on such a fun and creative project,” said Rihanna, whose relationship with the brand dates back to 2012, when the company custom-made socks for her cover photo shoot with Complex magazine.”
The limited edition collection will feature crew and over the knee socks for both men and women, and feature designs including red, black and white over-the-knee socks with newsprint typography and vintage movie art” with her nickname ‘Bad Gal’ printed all over, as well as black crew socks with her last name Fenty on the back. More good news: the socks retail for less than $40.
Currently, Rihanna is also the creative director at Puma, and has designed a collection in the past for River Island.
We are not surprised that Rihanna is being lauded for her style. The singer did steal the show in a yellow Guo Pei design that she found using Google, and only Rihanna can get away with wearing a completely sheer dress on the red carpet to accept a style icon award.
“She creatively pushes the boundaries in everything she does,” said Candy Harris, senior vice president of Stance’s women’s division. “It’s nice to work with out-of-the box ideas for our brand. There are very few women in fashion whose personal style can go from street to couture in a blink. She does it with such credibility and authenticity. It makes her an original.”
